It’s important to engage students curiosity as well as test their retention of knowledge through questioning.

Examples of effective question prompts:

What’s the same?

What do you think will happen next?

What is the same/different?

I wonder why…

What would happen if…?

One of the simplest forms of questioning is SNW

I wonder…

What do they see?

How big is it, what colour is it?

I notice…

What else do they notice?

Does it make a sound, have an odour, what material is it made of?

What is it similar to?

I wonder…

…is the beginning of formulating questions and understanding different enquiry types.
